Legends. Rogues. Champions. Fencing.

Fencing has been a sport in the Olympic Games since 1896, when the first modern Olympics took place. Baron Pierre de Coubertin, considered the founder of the modern Olympics, was himself a fencer. The sport thrives in the Summer Olympics to this day, having evolved into a spectacular, exciting sport with a profound history. Maestro George Pogosov, Olympic gold medalist fencer, fencing master, and Stanford University co-head fencing coach, has amassed what is arguably one of the world’s most diverse and broad collections of historical fencing memorabilia and autographs. This site gives you a taste of what is contained in his book, “A Legacy of Fencing,” available here.
